Battle of Manassas
The eighth annual re-enactment of the Battles at Manassas is planned for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday-Sunday at “Fort Wallace-Wood” near Manassas. Wallace-Wood is just off U.S. Highway 280 between Reidsville and Claxton.
At 2 p.m. each day, re-enactment battles between Union and Confederate forces will get under way. More than 300 re-enactors and 15 cannons firing black powder will participate. Campsites will be open for visits by the public.
Food and a variety of period merchandise will be offered by vendors. Admission is $5, children under 11 free. The event will be hosted by the Tattnall Invincibles Camp, Sons of Confederate Veterans. For more information, call Tommy Wallace at (912) 557-6649.


Wanda Sykes to perform
Stand-up comedienne Wanda Sykes will perform her uncensored show at Georgia Southern University at 8 p.m. March 24 in Hanner Fieldhouse.
Tickets are $15 for Georgia Southern students (a limit of four tickets per ID) and $25 for all others (limit four). All tickets will be sold via www.etix.com. For more information, call (912) 486-7270.
