The Liberty Theatre Company will perform “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever!” at 7 p.m. Friday and at 6 p.m. Saturday, in the Snelson-Golden Middle School auditorium.
The play, based on the book by Barbara Robinson, is about a group of unruly children who show up at a church, expecting free snacks only to join the cast for the congregation’s Christmas pageant.
Angela Everson and Vicki Davis direct the show which includes a cast of 25 actors, most of them children.
Everson said, “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever!” hit the stage in the late 1970s, and was a made for TV movie in the 1980s.
“It’s a really touching play,” she said.
To get to Snelson-Golden, at 465 Coates Road in Hinesville, head east on Highway 84, turn at Shoney’s onto Wallace Martin Drive and then left onto Coates Road. The middle school is on the left past Joseph Martin Elementary School.
Tickets cost $5 per person and are available at Uncommon Grounds, Farmers Natural Foods and the Old Liberty County Jail Museum.
LTC comes under the umbrella of the Hinesville Area Arts Council. Proceeds from tickets will help pay for script royalties, costumes and the stage facility.
