The Hinesville Area Arts Council will host an art exhibit for February, titled, “A Whimsical Journey,” featuring illustrations by Emily Carrier, a recent graduate from the Savannah College of Art and Design.

The exhibit will feature Carrier’s work that is mainly children’s book-based in the form of traditional media with a couple works digitally colored to simulate the look of traditional media.

“Art is a way to express ideas we cannot explain,” Carrier said. “It is a way to show others how we see the world. I see the world as a whimsical place of wonder just waiting to be explored. Come join me on my journey.”

The exhibit will open with a free community reception at the Gallery at 102 Commerce St. in downtown Hinesville from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Feb. 2. The Gallery is open Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
