Georgia Theatre Company is planning its seventh annual “Film & Food for a Cause” event, which will span 10 counties and 14 movie theaters on Sunday, Sept. 19. For a $10 donation, customers receive a movie ticket, concession combo that includes popcorn and a small soda, and a packet of restaurant coupons.
Proceeds benefit the United Way, Army Community Services on Fort Stewart and Prevent Child Abuse of Liberty County.
Advance tickets are on sale until Sept. 18 at Liberty Stadium Cinemas. In addition, proceeds from all regular ticket and concession sales on Sept. 19 will be donated.
Last year, the event raised more than $106,800 at participating theaters. GTC spent an additional $40,000 to coordinate the fundraiser.
