Families looking for something interesting and educational to do have plenty to chose from, thanks to Fort Morris Historic Site. The Georgia state site has a couple upcoming events planned and most are free or inexpensive.  
• Georgia in the War of 1812: An Archaeological Perspective
At 2 p.m. Saturday, Archaeologist Daniel T. Elliott will discuss events and archaeology pertaining to Georgia during the War of 1812. Sunbury, Fort Defiance, St. Marys, Point Peter, Savannah, Fort Hawkins and Creek settlements will be discussed and artifacts will be identified. Admission cost ranges from $2.75-$4.
• Independence Day Colonial Faire
Celebrate the 4th of July from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. with colonial games, contests of skill, colonial music, musket firings, cannon firings and activities. Prizes will be awarded to all participants. The event is sponsored by the city of Flemington. For more information on either of these events, call 884-5999.
