Fourth continues in R. Hill Saturday

Haven’t had enough of Fourth of July festivities yet? The Richmond Hill Family Festival and Barbecue is scheduled for Saturday beginning at noon at J. F. Gregory Park.
Sponsored by Richmond Hill Recreation Associatino, admission is free.
The 30-year-old event begins at the park at noon and ends with a fireworks display after dark. But the day gets under way with a 5K Run for Fun at 8 a.m., followed by a silent auction at 9 a.m. The Miss Richmond Hill Recreation Association Pageant starts at 11 a.m. Barbecue dinners and Boston butts will be available beginning at 11:30 a.m.
Other activities include a redneck golf tournament, a classic auto show featuring vehicles from the Over the Hill Gang car club, a live broadcast by 97.3 Kiss FM radio, the Richmond Hill Idol competition, a dance for sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders, and music from Blakthorn, Detour and the Floyd Hunter Band. There will also be a NASCAR simulator ride.
Arts and crafts vendors will be on hand, and there will be games and rides.
