Rob Denty, a Brunswick native now based in Chicago, will return to the area with a new music ensemble, BlueHour, for the fourth concert of the 2011 season of Jazz in the Park.
The outdoor show is from 7-9 p.m. Sunday, July 31, at the St. Simons Island Lighthouse lawn.
Last seen at the Historic Ritz Theatre in March 2009, Denty, who has performed professionally with many jazz musicians, will return to the Golden Isles for a set of standards and original tunes.
The Golden Isles Arts and Humanities Association, producer of the Jazz in the Park series, encourages the public to welcome the saxophonist and his talented ensemble.
The oceanside concert will be at high tide to maximize the water’s evening breezes for attendees’ comfort. Concertgoers should bring chairs, blankets, picnic suppers and beverages to enjoy.
Admission, which is payable at the gate, is $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-12, and free for children younger than 6.
The season continues on high-tide Sunday evenings Aug. 28 and Sept. 25.
