The 19th great season of Jazz in the Park, one of the Golden Isles most popular events, continues June 29 with a performance by a stylish trio of musicians from Savannah.
Silver Lining plays originals and reinterpreted standards with equal verve and sophistication. The luxurious vocals of bassist Maggie Evans, the surefooted rhythms of percussionist Marc Cordray, and the versatility of guitarist Jackson Evans create a fresh new sound that is fluid and relaxed.
Jazz in the Park 2008 features an exciting and eclectic mix of some of the finest jazz musicians throughout the Southeast. The open-air concerts are held on six Sunday evenings at high tide (for maximum breeze and comfort) from 7-9 p.m. at the St. Simons Lighthouse lawn. Bring a chair or blanket to relax on and a picnic supper and your favorite beverage - this is the summertime place to be, and a wonderful chance to gather with friends and other music lovers for the event that has achieved national recognition.
Admission to Jazz in the Park is $10 per person; ages 6-12 are $5 and kids under 6 are admitted free. Individual tickets are purchased at the gate only on the night of each concert.
