Job, training expo set

ATLANTA — The Georgia Department of Labor’s Brunswick Career Center will help Altamaha Technical College and the Coastal Workforce Investment Board host a job and training expo from 3-6 p.m. Thursday in ATC’s Career Academy at 4404 Glynco Parkway in Brunswick.

The expo will feature employers that will be hiring or discussing employment opportunities with the job seekers. Applicants should bring their resumes and be prepared to complete company applications and interview for available job openings. Attendees are encouraged to dress appropriately.

Career counselors from the GDOL and Altamaha Tech will be on hand to advise job seekers. The CWIB may provide financial assistance for training in commercial truck driving, culinary arts and other occupations that are in demand by employers.

Employers expected to participate include: C. E. McKenzie and Associates, Grabber Manufacturing, Jekyll Island Authority, Manpower, M.K. Industries, PAR Marine, Pinova, Sea Island Company, Southeast Georgia Health System and Smith State Prison.
