Post cemetery tour is Thursday

The public is invited to visit historic cemeteries with the Fort Stewart Historic Communities Council semiannual meeting and cemetery visit on Thursday.

Visitors will see Liberty Chapel, Green Bay, Cypress Slash and Trinity cemeteries and have the opportunity to eat lunch at an installation dining facility. The cash-only lunch is $5.55, and exact change will be needed.

Participants can meet:
• From 8-8:45 a.m. at the installation’s Pass and Permit Office on Highway 144
• From 7:30-8:15 a.m. at the Liberty County Recreation Area/National Guard parking lot on Highway 84.

Buses will link up at the Pass and Permit site at 8:45 a.m. The tour starts at 9.

Information about the cemeteries will be provided

Dress comfortably, preferably in layers, with comfortable shoes, and a hat or other sun protection. Bottled water and insect repellent are also suggested.
