International Championship Wrestling is bringing professional wrestling to Fort Stewart.
The organization has provided wrestling entertainment to the U.S. military around the world since 1986 and present five matches at Newman Fitness Center at 7 p.m. May 19.
The two-hour event will include a headline match, a tag team match, a women’s match and two men’s matches. Names of wrestlers haven't been provided yet.

Hunter GC Golf Scramble
The Hunter Garrison Commander’s 4-person Golf Scramble will begin with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Friday at Hunter Golf Club. The event will accept the first 25 four-person teams. Register by Wednesday.
The cost is $35 for Taylors Creek and Hunter Golf Club members, active duty, retirees, and Army civilians, and $45 for civilian guests.

Golf for Life clinics
Learn about golf, its rules and policies and what it takes to play it well, at one of four hour-long Golf for Life clinics on the driving range at Hunter Golf Club.
There is no charge.
The opening session will be from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday. Participants must register by Friday by calling 315-9115.
The remaining three sessions will be from 5:30-6:30 p.m. June 4; 10:30-11:30 a.m. July 14 and 5:30-6:30 p.m. Aug. 7. Each clinic will cover a short introduction and a new topic.
Golf for Life is for all golfers. Beginners can learn the basics while novice golfers will improve their game. Wounded Warriors and other soldiers are encouraged to participate.

Mother’s Day brunch
Make it a special day for mom by taking her to the Mother’s Day brunch at Club Stewart from 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. on May 13.
The menu includes breakfast items, carving station with top round of beef, salad bar, pork loin with peach glaze, roasted teriyaki chicken, loaded mashed potatoes, spring rice blend, green beans almondine, corn soufflé, chocolate fondue station, dessert station with chocolate fondue, and mimosas.

Splashpark’s Opening Day
The water fun starts May 18 at the Splashpark at Cypress Creek. Bring the kids and be prepared to watch them have a ball getting wet. Opening day hours are 9:30 a.m. until 7 p.m. Normal hours are 11:30 a.m.-7 p.m. with “Toddler Splash” for 0-5 years on Friday and Monday from 9:30-11:30 a.m. The cost is $1.50 per person. America’s Armed Forces Kids Run EventsAmerica’s Armed Forces Kids Run is set for Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield in support of Armed Forces Day on May 19. Registration will close May 18.Stewart and Hunter youth, ages 5-13, can participate in the non-competitive runs. Ages 5-6 will run five-tenths of a mile; ages 7-8 will run a mile; and ages 9-13 will run two miles.
Fort Stewart’s run will be at Jordan Youth Gym in conjunction with the Get Fit… Be Strong Fitness Tour. It will be followed by a Community/Family Fitness Day.
The event is scheduled from 9 a.m.-noon.
Jump rope athlete Buddy Lee and his team will do a fitness presentation. Winners during Buddy Lee’s youth jump rope contest can win up to $300.
T-shirts will be awarded to all youth participants. Parents may run with their children.

The Hunter run will get under way at 9 a.m. on a route at the corner of Steven Douglas and North Perimeter road. Kids taking part will receive T-shirts.

50-Bird Skeet Shoot
A quarterly 50-bird skeet shoot will start at 8 a.m. May 19 at the Hunter Army Airfield Skeet Range. The range is off South Perimeter Road.
Prizes, giveaways and food are included in the $25 entry fee. The cost is $40 for skeet and trap competition (with a total of 100 birds).
Depending on the number of entries, competition is scheduled in novice, intermediate, expert, youth and lady's categories.
A $200 prize will be awarded for a perfect round.
The registration deadline is May 17. Sign up at the range. Registration costs for the first 15 soldiers will be paid by Mossy Oaks Gun Club.
Shotguns for those who do not have one will be available on a first-come basis. Available are .12 and .20 gauge and youth .20 gauge.

Operation Purple Camps Registration
Applications for Operation Purple camps are available through the National Military Family Association website.
The goal of the program is to give military children, ages 7-17, the tools to deal with the stresses that result from a parent's deployment. Priority will be given to children whose parents are deployed between Sept. 11 and Dec. 12 and who have not been to an Operation Purple Camp.
