Fresh from the successful dinner theater earlier this month at What’s the Scoop Café, the Richmond Hill Community Theatre is announcing auditions for the next production.
Auditions for O. Henry’s delightful short story, “The Ransom of Red Chief,” will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday and from 3-5 p.m. April 10 at the amphitheater in J.F. Gregory Park. Actors from age 5 to adult are encouraged to call 445-5001 to obtain an audition package.
Kelly Loomis of Richmond Hill will direct the performance of “The Ransom of Red Chief,” on June 11 at the amphitheater. Loomis has worked with numerous children’s groups and is looking forward to her first production with RHCT.
Additionally, the RHCT annual meeting will be at 7 p.m. April 28 at the Richmond Hill Public Library. The meeting will provide an opportunity to meet other actors and offer services as a board member or volunteer.
RHCT also is planning a November production with director Richard Seng taking the reins. Many will remember Seng as Detective Hank Miranda in “Murder – Medium/Rare.” There will be more information upcoming on the November production.
The mission of the RHCT is to enrich, entertain and educate the community of Richmond Hill through quality theatrical performances. It hopes there will be continued support of community theater in Richmond Hill.
