Summer is winding down, which means the close of another Jazz in the Park season on St. Simons Island. The Golden Isles Arts and Humanities Association will present Julie Wilde and the Bohemian Dream Band from 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the St. Simons Lighthouse lawn.
The Savannah-based band also wrapped up last year’s jazz season with a riveting performance and this year’s show should be no exception.
Reviving and expanding on the romance and gypsy-swing vibe, Wilde and her band have an exotic repertoire ranging from gypsy jazz and swinging standards to Wilde’s original tunes.
A Golden Isles tradition for more than two decades, Jazz in the Park takes place by the sea at high tide, for maximum breezes and bug-free comfort.
Admission to Jazz in the Park, payable at the gate the night of each show, is $10 for adults. Children ages 6 to 12 are $5, and anyone younger than 6 gets in free.
The 2011 season of Jazz in the Park is sponsored in part by Atlantic National Bank, Best Western Island Inn, Magic 105.9 and The Wave 104.1.
