Here are some of the issues area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously and we do not know if they are true. Nor do we know what motivated the callers:

 

All I can say is roll Tide. Go big 'Bama.

Job shortage, gas shortages, water shortages. Illegal immigrants, no shortages.

I heard a young lady talking about early voting not counting. It does count. So get out there and vote early, as long as it's not for McBush.

Liberty County they do have the finest deputies. Monday, headed to work I saw a neighbor's house being robbed. The sheriff's department was out here before I could get off the phone. They apprehended the juveniles robbing that home.

The next time the automakers go looking to Congress for a handout like they did in the '70s, we need to remember that Michigan citizens didn't overwhelmingly approve of the bailout. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

I'd like to thank the guy that did the lawn maintenance at my neighbors and busted out my car window. Just remember, every dog has his day. It's nicer to be honest than to tell a lie.

What people don't understand is the CFO has to remove a boot from her
derriere if she speaks too loudly.

I think it is unsportsmanship that the traveling team should be allowed in Liberty County recreation. Many of these children are coming in here new. It's unfair for the team that practiced together all summer to play against them.
