Kick back, take in a flick and enjoy some snacks. Georgia Theatre Company is planning its eighth annual “Film and Food for a Cause” event, which will span 15 movie theaters on Sunday, Sept. 18. For a $12 donation, customers receive a movie ticket, concession combo that includes popcorn and a small soda, and a packet of restaurant coupons.
Proceeds benefit the United Way of the Coastal Empire and Army Community Services on Fort Stewart.
Advance tickets are on sale until Sept. 17 at Liberty Stadium Cinemas.
Even in tough economic times, last year’s event raised more than $90,000 at 14 participating theaters in nine markets.
