Develop and exhibit your skills at the 2009 Community and Areawide Talent Contest. The two age divisions are youth division (16 and under) and adult division (17 and older). There is a contest meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, at Brewton-Parker Auditorium, off Highway 84 in Flemington.
Guidelines are as follows:
• If several nights of competition are necessary, preliminary shows will be held prior to the final competition.
• A drawing for order of appearance will be held prior to each competition.
• No contestant may enter more than two categories of competition.
• Contestants (excluding master of ceremonies category) in the finals must use the same material or act as performed in the preliminary part of the contest.
• The competition must not be used as a means for contestants to express their beliefs or promote a cause dealing with political, ecological, religious, racial, or ethnic subjects.
• A contestant forfeits the right to compete by any inexcusable absence from scheduled meetings, rehearsals, or other formations or for inappropriate conduct.
• A contestant can be disqualified for any violation of the contest rules or use of unacceptable materials, as determined by the judges.
