Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield invite community members to join the semi-annual Fort Stewart Cemetery Council cemetery and historical site visit at 9 a.m. Tuesday, April 28.
The visit will include the Glisson’s Mill Pond area with stops at South Salem, Jerusalem, Warnell and Moody cemeteries.
Participants will meet at building 8091, the installation’s pass and permit office, on Highway 144. Also, for individuals traveling from Liberty, Long, McIntosh, Wayne or other counties, transportation to building 8091 will be available from the Hinesville Georgia Army National Guard Armory parking lot at 8:30 a.m.
The tour will leave shortly after 9 a.m. Port-a-Potty and hand washing stations will be available. Comfortable clothes and shoes are suggested. Participants may bring bottles of water. If it rains, the cemetery visit will be postponed to a later date.
Attendees will have the opportunity to eat lunch at the United States Army Non-commissioned Officers Academy on Fort Stewart. The cost is $4.25.
