The Liberty County Convention and Visitors Bureau has unveiled its new, free Discover Liberty County smartphone application for visitors.
Discover Liberty County showcases the history and culture of Liberty County. Acting as a guidebook for the county, visitors can access a listing of area hotels, businesses, restaurants, attractions and a calendar of events.
Visitors can download the free app at the iTunes App Store or Android Marketplace by searching for “Discover Liberty County.”
After downloading the free application, visitors will have access to listings of available information as well as an interactive, zoomable GPS map that indicates a visitor’s current location and selected points of interest.
App listings include a description of each location, images and additional embedded information such as phone numbers, websites and addresses.
“We are pleased to offer this innovative, user-friendly tool to our visitors,” said Leah Poole, CEO of the LCCVB. “Nearly one-third of all cell phones in the U.S. are smartphones, and nearly 20 percent of U.S. travelers have downloaded one or more travel-related applications to these phones. The trend will continue to grow, and the CVB is proud to embrace this technology in order to better serve our visitors.”
