The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce and Liberty County Convention and Visitors Bureau are seeking voters to elect the grand marshal of the 16th annual illuminated Christmas parade.

The candidates are four local high school principals: Tom Alexander of the Liberty College & Career Academy, Scott Carrier of Bradwell Institute, Sammi Hester of First Presbyterian Christian Academy and Paula Scott of Liberty County High School.

The grand marshal gets to ride in the lead vehicle of the parade and is the first to be seen via WTOC’s live streaming of the parade.

Residents can vote at www.libertycounty.org until Thursday.

The parade, set for 6:30 p.m. Dec. 7, is expected to draw as many as 15,000 attendees. It will feature numerous floats representing the theme, “A Vintage Christmas: Celebrating the Culture and Heritage of Liberty County.”

For more information, call the chamber of commerce at 368-4445 or go to www.libertycounty.org.
