159 Georgia Together, Georgia’s largest statewide progressive organization with more than 17,000 members, is a non-profit 501(c)4 with an all-volunteer board. The organization has announced the appointments of their newest board members Antwan T. Lang and Sabrina Newby, both from the Coastal Georgia area.

“With the addition of our two newest members, we have broadened our geographical reach to represent the coastal region more fully,” said Deborah Miness, president.

“Sabrina Newby, CEO of the Coastal Georgia Minority Chamber, brings skills and expertise in policy and economic development that will help us better address the racially-based economic inequality that this time of crisis has exposed and exacerbated,” said Miness.

She added, “Much of our focus this year is understandably on voter registration, voting, and election integrity. Our other new member, Antwan Lang, serves on the Chatham County Board of Elections. Like Sabrina, Antwan gives back to the community in so many ways. It is our hope that he will help us provide even better service to our members as they navigate our broken election system in Georgia.”
