A total of 43 candidates will campaign over the next few months, in what could be one of the more interesting political seasons in the last few cycles.
Qualifying for the Nov. 6 elections in Allenhurst, Hinesville, Riceboro and Walthourville closed Friday, with only a few candidates waiting until the last day to make their campaigns official and have their names printed on ballots.
Those interested in running for a mayoral or council seat in the cities, but missed the deadline, will have until Sept. 7 to file and publish a notice of intention to be a write-in candidate in this year’s city elections.

Below is the list of candidates whose names will be printed on the ballots in each city, by position and district/post, if necessary.
NOTE: Candidates running in the Gum Branch municipal elections are not listed because the city has opted not to use the county’s services to run its elections this year. The city’s list of candidates will be published when they become available.
