Accident causes power outage

After a vehicle hit a power line on Highway 84 around 9 a.m. Wednesday morning that rerouted and clogged up traffic for the majority of the morning and early afternoon, about 250 people were left without power for just over 10 minutes.
“The calls started coming in at about 9:02 a.m.,” said Konswello Monroe spokesperson for Georgia Power.
While Monroe said the majority of the people were out of power for just a brief period of time, some downtown locations may have experienced longer spans without power.
“They [Ga. Power workers] had to do some switching around and some individuals may have been without power for a little longer,” Monroe said.
