Democratic First Congressional District Representative Candidate, Joyce Marie Griggs and Liberty County First Congressional Democratic Delegate, Lisa Thomas helped register 35 people to vote this past Saturday.

Liberty County First Congressional Democratic Delegate, Lisa Thomas and Democratic First Congressional District Representative Candidate, Joyce Marie Griggs were at Baconton Missionary Baptist Church this past Saturday, during a COVID testing event held from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m.


While Pastor Hermon Scott attended to the COVID-19 drive through testing, sponsored by the Liberty County Health Department, Thomas, Griggs and the folks from Liberty County Concerned Citizens for Change, encouraged residents to register to vote and be counted in the 2020 Census.


Thomas said they registered 35 residents for the November election. Thomas is an advocate for making, “everyone’s vote count,” and encourages folks to request absentee ballots early as well as early voting in person which starts Oct. 12.
