The Coastal Courier’s Best of Liberty 2021 celebration event will feature a Vacation Getaway and be held in Richmond Hill’s City Center according to Publisher Dee McLelland.

“Our event this year will be the biggest ever as we expect a strong turnout and currently, there’s not a facility in Liberty or Long counties that will provide the space or amenities we need,” McLelland said. “It was a tough decision, but we have held events at the City Center before and feel it is the best possible option for such a big event.” 

The event will also feature a drawing for those in attendance to win a three-day, two night stay at the Holiday Inn Beach Resort in Fort Walton Beach-Destin, Florida to coincide with the giant Destin Seafood Festival Oct. 1-3.

“The trip to the Gulf Coast is one of the most beautiful places in American and the beaches are fantastic,” McLelland said. “Anyone who purchases  a ticket to the event and attends will be in a drawing to win. We think this is a great addition to our biggest Best of Liberty ever.”

Tickets for the event, which will feature the Best of Liberty awards, food, drinks and live entertainment by Bucky & Barry of Savannah along with dancing will go on sale Monday August 1 for $50 per individual.

“We expect a crowd in excess of 175 for the event and we will have the ability to have dancing as well, McLelland added. “Along with the fabulous food we will also have an open bar along with a cash bar later in the night.”

The Richmond Hill City Center has a capacity for 200 guests along with the dance floor, food stations and bar locations.

“I hated to move the event, but with the number of votes and interest in the Best of Liberty this year I felt we needed to make sure we took the best possible event space within 30 minutes of Hinesville and most of the Liberty and Long county folks who are in the running for awards.,” McLelland. “I think this does show a need for an event space in Liberty and Long  that can accomodate everything from a family reunion to a wedding along with events such as ours.
