The body  of a woman that was found in the Darien River April 3 has been identified, according to recent news reports.  

According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the dead woman was Sammeka Barriner, age 29. Her body was found in the river near U.S. Highway 17 in McIntosh County. 

Barriner was allegedly a resident of West Park, located in Broward County, Fla. According to news reports, the GBI is collaborating with the Broward County Sheriff’s Office on the case. Police hope to determine what events lead to Barrinerr’s death.
