Challenger Will Bowman claimed victory Thursday night in the Liberty County Sheriff's race. 

There's been no official confirmation from elections officials. In a Facebook post thanking voters for their support, Bowman shared numbers showing he edged incumbent Steve Sikes in the Democratic primary by a 4,348-3,542 margin.
