Bradwell Institute sophomore Sean Giddings recently earned 1st Chair in the Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) All State Band. Sean along with other talented Liberty County band students from Bradwell Institute, Lewis Frasier Middle, and Liberty County High earned spots in the District 1 Honor Band auditions held earlier this year.

Students who are selected for District Honor Band are required to perform major scales as well as a chromatic scale from memory. They must also perform a piece of music published by GMEA, and sight read a short excerpt that they have never seen before given only 30 seconds to study.

Each instrument has its own cut off score predetermined by GMEA, and those students are eligible to audition for “All State Band.”

Sean will represent Liberty County Schools in the GMEA All State Band and Orchestra, which will perform in March 2020 at The Classic Center in Athens.
