WALTHOURVILLE - All lanes of Highway 84 in Walthourville are reopen to traffic.

The highway had been closed due to a gas leak.

All traffic was diverted onto Airport Road or turned around on Highway 84.

Local businesses near the gas line break and residents were asked to stay in place. Businesses in proximity of the break were asked to leave. Highway 84 from Airport Road to Dunlevie was shut down.

According to Walthourville Fire Department Lt. Amber Little, a regulator failed and a pressure relief valve engaged and performed as it was intended. A repairman from Atlantic Gas company arrived to make repairs.
