The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce kicked off the holiday season at Brewer’s Christmas Tree-Blueberry Farm in Midway. Brewer’s has a Christmas tree selection that spans more than 500 acres. Owner Paschal Brewer was named grower of the year in 2003 and 2005. The farm also had the grand champion Christmas tree in 2009 at the Georgia National Fair.
Chamber members joined Paschal Brewer and his wife Judy for hot chocolate, cider, wine and snacks at the farm’s Christmas shop where homemade gifts, honey, jams, jellies and decorative items are displayed and sold. Brewer’s Christmas Tree-Blueberry Farm also sells tree stands and holiday wreaths made from freshly cut greenery and holly.
Chamber members and staffers enjoyed cutting their own trees at the farm. Brewer’s supplies saws and gloves and workers are available to help cut, carry, shake, wrap and load trees.
Visitors also can take hayrides around the grounds to the farm’s petting zoo where they can feed animals. Wild turkeys, rabbits and foxes roam the farm.
