The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce recently added Melissa Bloom to its staff as administrative assistant. She replaces Krista Maines, who recently moved to the finance-assistant position.
Bloom will schedule events such as ribbon cuttings, luncheons and other occasions for members. She also will run the welcome center at the chamber and provide new or potential residents with welcome packets and any other information they may need.
Bloom, who was born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina, graduated from the University of South Carolina in May with a Bachelor of Science in nursing. Bloom got married in April, which led to her move to Liberty County with her husband, a corporal in 4th Brigade at Fort Stewart.
“I am excited for this great opportunity to work at the chamber,” Bloom said. “I hope to build on my knowledge and meet some amazing people while I am here.”
“We believe that Melissa has the organizational skills to keep up with the fast pace that is maintained by the chamber in satisfying all of its members. We look forward to working with her and are happy to welcome her to the team,” chamber CEO Leah Poole said.
Maines will invoice and receive money for memberships, renewals and various events. She will be in charge of bookkeeping and accounting, as well as payroll, banking and accounts payable, and will maintain customer files and update online information of all members.
