Coastal Bank offers free electronics recycling

SAVANNAH — The Coastal Bank will accept a wide range of used electronic items for recycling, free of charge, at all area branches and at the bank’s operations center in Pooler from 9 a.m-5 p.m. April 16-20 in honor of Earth Week.  
The Coastal Bank will accept a wide range of used electronic items including computers, cell phones and household appliances at the following locations:
• 501 West Highway 80, Pooler
• 605 West Highway 80, Pooler (operations center)
• 140 Towne Center Blvd, Pooler
• 5799 Highway 21 S, Rincon
• 101 West Hendry St., Hinesville
• 18 West Bryan St., Savannah
• 412 Stephenson Ave., Savannah
The electronics recycling program is offered in partnership with Goodwill Industries of the Coastal Empire Inc.
“As a community bank, we’re always interested in ways to make a positive impact on a local level,” said Jim LaHaise, executive vice president and chief banking officer at The Coastal Bank. “This is a wonderful partnership which helps celebrate Earth Week, offers hands-on training for those in need at Goodwill and reduces the negative effect electronic item disposal can have on the environment. We encourage everyone to recycle their unwanted electronics by dropping them off at the nearest Coastal Bank location.”
Goodwill Industries of the Coastal Empire Inc. works with the Dell Reconnect program to create an audited-waste stream, ensuring that unwanted computers are properly recycled to minimize their environmental impact.
This marks the second consecutive year The Coastal Bank has celebrated Earth Week by offering free electronics recycling to the general public in partnership with Goodwill Industries of the Coastal Empire Inc.
