Coastal Kids Clothing & Gifts in Hinesville is offering children’s furniture refurbishments among its services.

Customers can bring in heirlooms and hand-me-down furniture for transformation into customized pieces.

Kenda Brand, the latest addition to the Coastal Kids team, began to “spruce up” fixtures in the shop, which allowed the store to display merchandise in new ways.

“Immediately, we started getting so many requests to purchase the furniture, but we needed them to display the merchandise. That prompted us to offer Mrs. Brand’s custom-order services to the public,” owner Wendy Merritt said. “She is a very talented and dedicated decorator who has previously worked as a showroom decorator for various companies.”

Brand refurbishes all types of baby furniture and also coordinates upholstery with the décor.

“Our children deserve a great room that they can grow up in and be creative, but new furniture can be so costly,” Brand said.

Coastal Kids Clothing & Gifts opened in October 2011 at 131 S. Main St. Store hours are 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
