Halloween was a fun and silly time at VIP Office Furniture & Supply. The employees got into the spirit of Halloween by dressing in costumes for the day and handing out candy to customers. The focus was to raise money for the Liberty Humane Shelter.
Customers were encouraged to donate $1 to cast their votes for their favorite costumes. All of the proceeds from the votes were donated directly to the shelter.
“This is such a blessing to have companies in our community reach out to help us with donations and to help get the existing animals adopted,” shelter Director Sandra Frye said
Employee MeLissa Green, dressed as a trophy wife, took it one step further. She asked for donations during her lunch hour, then took to the streets of Downtown Hinesville during the afternoon.
“I’m doing this for the shelter,” she said. “They need our support, and I think it’s a fun way to help.”
Through the customer donations, VIP raised $150 for the shelter.
“Customers think the cause is great and reacted very positively,” Retail Operations Executive Cathy O’Hagan said. “We’re happy to help and to give back locally to our community.”
Customers are encouraged to help donate in other ways as well. VIP has a donation box in the store at 109 Central Ave. The company is asking for supplies like bleach, medical gloves, catnip and chew toys.
