The Village Children’s Learning Center Directors/Owners Fay and Michael Terry and 19 employees attended a two-day training session Oct. 14-15 at the Georgia Association on Young Children Conference at the Gwinnett Center in Atlanta.
On the first day of the conference, the staff attended an awards banquet, where four of them were recognized for their accomplishments. Lavern Dowers, Ywinta Parker and Vanessa Polite were recognized for receiving their Child Development Associate credentials. Catherine Nettles was recognized for receiving her Technical Certificate of Credit in early childhood education. The awards were presented by Bright From the Start Commissioner Bobby Cagle.
On the second day of the conference, the staff members attended skill-competency and leadership training. Staff members brought back many new and innovative ways to continue to educate the children of the Hinesville/Fort Stewart area and surrounding communities.
