Tabeter Moore of Hinesville was awarded a Simply Best Performance Award for her work as the equal opportunity compliance officer for District 5 of the Georgia Department of Transportation.

There are 26 counties in District 5.

Moore received her award from GDOT Commissioner Russell McMurry.

Moore has worked for GDOT for seven years and "continues to go over and above the call of duty in providing service to GDOT customers," her commendation said. "It is rare to find a person who gives so much attention to humanity and equality as she does."

The commendation said Moore "proposed and implemented a new way of conducting training with local governments and has been providing training on the EEOC program and careers with GDOT at Georgia Universities for the past two years," Since her arrival at GDOT, DBE participation and engagement has expanded in her District. It’s apparent Ms. Moore loves people, GDOT and being a public servant. She is able to merge each of those in the personal and professional activity in which she so enthusiastically engages."
