ATLANTA — The Georgia Department of Labor is teaming with the State Employer Committee to offer a course on compliance challenges during an employment-law and legislative-issues update Wednesday in Morrow.
The event will be held from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. at Clayton State University, 2000 Clayton State Blvd., according to the GDOL’s website.
State Labor Commissioner Mark Butler will provide attendees with an update on local, state and federal legislative issues impacting employers and businesses this year, as well as challenges that could affect them in the next few years. He also will give an update on the GDOL.
GDOL Employment and Training Consultant Cherry Rizer will offer advice on best practices in UI claims and appeals representation.
Attorney Jonathan Martin, a partner with Constangy, Brooks and Smith LLC, will speak on harassment.
Don Betts of Georgia Tech Betts will provide information to help non-health-related employers establish a peer-to-peer networking group.
Seating will be limited, and pre-registration is encouraged. Cost is $60 per person, $50 for additional attendees per company, and $75 at the door. Registration includes a light breakfast and lunch.
