Guardians in Action hosted a ribbon cutting Nov. 5 at 425 W. Oglethorpe Highway in Hinesville in conjunction with the Liberty County Chamber of Commerce. President Army Staff Sgt. Ernest Davis welcomed staff, family, friends, and chamber staff and members to the event.

“We are mostly active duty military members giving back to the community. We are looking to help our community and the underprivileged children any way that we can,” Davis said.

Guardians in Action is a nonprofit group that started in July 2012 and recently joined the chamber.

The 26-member group is comprised of Fort Stewart soldiers and their spouses who do a variety of volunteer work.

“On behalf of the chamber, I would like to welcome you,” chamber CEO Leah Poole said. “We are gratified to have you as a part of the chamber.”

The two next big events for the Guardians in Action will be a food drive in conjunction with Operation Homefront on Dec. 1 in the Walmart parking lot and the 16th annual Illuminated Christmas Parade on Dec. 7.
