Hinesville jobless rate drops
employment rising

ATLANTA — Metro Hinesville’s unemployment rate for November was 7.5 percent, down 0.5 percent from October, the Georgia Department of Labor announced Thursday. The rate fell as new jobs were added and new layoffs, as measured by initial unemployment insurance claims, dropped. Metro Hinesville added 200 new jobs in November, pushing the total to 20,100, up 1.0 percent, from 19,900 in October. Most of the job growth came in the goods-producing sector, which includes manufacturing and construction, and the service-related industries. Also, there were 174 new claims for unemployment insurance filed in November, a decrease of two from October.
