The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce had a ribbon cutting Nov. 18 for Cloud 9, the remodeled and renamed gift shop at Liberty Regional Medical Center.

Chamber CEO Leah Poole, LRMC CEO Michael Hester and Director of Laboratory Services Donald Lovette welcomed LRMC staff, Chamber members and guests.

LRMC Director of Marketing Rene’ Harwell introduced the new merchandise lines that are being carried, as well as Rhonda Nuttall, the visionary behind the remodel. They were able to bring in new lines such as Mud Pie and Simply Southern to the shop, which is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The gift shop’s new name went through several rounds before Cloud 9 was finally adopted.

“We just felt like Cloud 9 was something that was soothing and happy, so when you come in the gift shop, you get that feeling of happiness,” Harwell said.
