Job seekers got a leg up on a competitive job market Wednesday by attending a career expo at Fort Stewart.

Expo organizer CivilianJobs.com tallied a total of 435 attendees, which included enlisted Army personnel, officers, retirees, veterans, spouses and civilians. At least 30 vendors, representing national and local employers and universities, spoke with career hopefuls, offering information and accepting resumes.

"This is a reflection of the economy," said Senior Expo Coordinator Vicki Washington, pleased with the job fair turnout. Washington said she was surprised at the number of people who showed at Fort Stewart during a deployment cycle.
