The Dog’s Spot Daycare hosted a ribbon cutting, grand opening and open house Aug. 31 in conjunction with the Liberty County Chamber of Commerce at 229 W. Gen. Screven Way in Hinesville.
Owners Kim Tome and Chris Hicks welcomed staff, chamber board members and others.
The Dog’s Spot provides day-care services for dogs as well as obedience training. Day care is available from 7 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Overnight boarding, day training, basic manners boot camp and private lessons also are available.
Hinesville is a second location for The Dog’s Spot, which originated in Ellabell. Tome said that she was encouraged to come to Hinesville by Petsense, because they wanted a trainer in the area. Tome, a native of Australia, learned dog training from her grandfather and is the only trainer in the area with two AKC Obedience Trial Champions.
“Being able to change and improve the relationship dynamic between a dog and its owner makes this all worthwhile,” Tome said.
“On behalf of the Chamber I would like to welcome you as a new member and welcome you to Liberty County,” chamber treasurer Barbara Martin said. “We’re glad to have you here, and please let us know what we can do to support you.”
