The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce recently welcomed a new member, Larry’s Giant Subs, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Eatery owner Bharat Patel and his staff opened a second location at 757 W. Oglethorpe Highway in the Walmart Super Center plaza. The other location is at 790 Frank Cochran Drive.
Larry Raikes and his brothers built their first sandwich shop in Jacksonville in 1982. After seeing the response the first store received, the two branched out and took their concept nationwide.
Larry’s Giant Subs employees make all sandwiches to order, slicing meat and cheese in front of customers. Everything is made quickly and carefully, Patel said, just the way subs were made at the original Larry’s Giant Subs more than 25 years ago. Patel said he upholds the Raikes’ commitment to quality in his Hinesville.
During the new restaurant’s grand opening, chamber members, customers and friends were treated to a free lunch of sandwiches, potato chips, cookies and drinks.
