Lumpkin moves up in accounting firm

Certified public accountant Penny Hendry Lumpkin has been admitted as a member of the firm Barrs, Coiner & Lumpkin, LLC (formerly Carmichael, Clay & Barrs, LLC) in Brunswick.
Lumpkin, who is a native of Allenhurst, lives with her husband, Corey Lumpkin, in Brunswick. She is the daughter of Alfonzie and Emily Hendry of Allenhurst.
Lumpkin has 13 years public accounting experience and joined the firm in 2003. She performs nonprofit and commercial audits, as well as other attestation engagements. Lumpkin also provides consulting services, religious financial and accounting training, and tax preparation for individual, business and nonprofit clients.
She graduated from Georgia Southern University with a degree in accounting and is a member of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Lumpkin is a past president of the Coastal Georgia Chapter of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants. She serves on the program advisory committee for the online accounting program offered by Globe University, Minnesota School of Business and Utah Career College. She is a member of and serves in leadership positions at Elm Grove Baptist Church, has been an active volunteer with local nonprofits and is a presenter at church conferences on financial and accounting matters.
The firm was founded in 1994 and is a full-service accounting and consulting firm that serves the Southeast Georgia and Northeast Florida areas, providing income tax, accounting and auditing services for individuals, businesses and nonprofits.
