The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce would like to thank the participants, contributors, volunteers and members for this year’s annual banquet, which was held Jan 25 at the Dorchester Village Civic Center.
This year, the Taste of Liberty allowed chamber member restaurants to bring their best dishes so that guests could sample their wares. Jeans and sparkles were the overall attire for the night as the dress was denim and diamonds.
The event was a success made possible by the center’s board, which allowed us to use the facility. Local favorite 3rd Class Citizens provided some great tunes for dancing.
We would like to thank the following restaurants who participated and brought delicious food: The Sunbury Crab Company, Metz Culinary, Jeff’s Candy Kitchen, Southern Sweets, Holiday Inn Express, Rottweiler Vending, Club Stewart, Farmer’s Natural Foods, Southern BBQ, Baldino’s and Donut Connection. Also, thank you to the Blue Fountain Lounge at the LaQuinta Inn for providing the evening’s libations and hosting a beer and wine tasting.
The 2012 chamber business award winners also part of the evening: Jimmy Shanken, self-employed business of the year; Imprint Warehouse, 2-15 employees; Vaden Nissan, 16-35 employees; and SNF Chemtall, 35-plus employees. Hasit Patel of the LaQuinta Inn received the civic leader of the year award.
Kevin Thomas of Auto Super Center received business leader of the year, and Karen Bell was named the chamber ambassador of the year.
Congratulations to all winners!
Events like this would not be possible without our members, and we look forward to working with all of you in 2013.
