As part of its continuing network investment to support growing demand for mobile devices and services, AT&T recently announced the activation of a new cell site on Fort Stewart that will enhance coverage for area residents and businesses in and around the military base.
The new cell site is part of AT&T’s ongoing efforts to drive innovation and extend its mobile network. It is also part of the company’s ongoing investment to build the networks that will fuel economic growth and create jobs, and enable AT&T’s customers to quickly access content, applications and services.
“More than ever before, customers look to wireless communications to stay in touch with family, friends and business colleagues,” said Keith Holmes, AT&T’s vice president and general manager in Georgia. “We’re working to make this possible by adding new wireless coverage and offering exciting products to help our customers stay connected with their world, at home and on the go.”
AT&T’s mobile network is based on the Global System for Mobile standard. The company offers data roaming in more than 190 countries, as well as voice calling in more than 220 countries.
