Diva Essentials Makeup Bar and Boutique hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony July 7 in conjunction with the Liberty County Chamber of Commerce.
Owner Yvette Allen welcomed chamber staff, board members, ambassadors and friends to the event, which was held at her store at 306 N. Main St., suite 1A-1.
Vicki Davis, director of the Hinesville Downtown Development Authority, welcomed Allen to the downtown district.
“Businesses like Diva Essentials are good examples of what entrepreneurs should try to emulate,” Davis said.
Chamber of commerce Executive Director Leah Poole welcomed Allen to the growing chamber family.
Allen has her own line of makeup called Brown Skin Beauty Cosmetics. The makeup is oil-free and paraffin-free. She also has a line of skin-care products and body wash.
Allen has her own line of handbags and accessories, which she sells in the boutique.
The business’ Teen Diva Club is a monthly “boot camp” for divas in training. The class offers girls a chance to learn etiquette, social skills, how to walk in heels and pregnancy prevention. The girls also volunteer in the community and learn to give back.
