USDA Rural Development celebrates Home Ownership Month each year in June. However, Sanches Deloach is celebrating a little early this year.
The Liberty County resident recently closed on a loan to buy her first home, and she says she is ecstatic.  Deloach and her two children have lived in public housing for the past several years, and her dream has been to own their own home.
Now that it has become a reality, they are overjoyed, Deloach said.
In talking with June Forehand, area specialist in the Statesboro Rural Development Office, Deloach said she could not have achieved her dream without the assistance of the USDA Rural Development Agency.
Forehand said the agency provides funding to income-eligible applicants who have a dependable source of income and acceptable credit.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture, through the USDA Rural Development Agency, has made available millions of dollars in low-interest loan funds for eligible applicants to purchase homes in Georgia including Liberty County.
The loans can be used to buy homes in Midway and Riceboro, as well as in addition to the rural areas of the county. The loans cannot be used in Hinesville, Walthourville, Flemington or Allenhurst.
Liberty County residents, who are not homeowners but desire to be, who have a dependable source of income and acceptable credit, can contact the office in Statesboro at (912) 871-2620 Option 4 for assistance in qualifying for a home ownership loan.
