Richmond Hill Pharmacy will have its sixth annual Health Fair from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at 2409 Highway 17 in Richmond Hill.
Free blood pressure and glucose testing will be offered, along with flu vaccinations for $25 and cholesterol testing for $25. Medicare patients should bring their cards and the pharmacy will bill. Pneumonia vaccinations will be available for $35. People older than 65 and others at high risk for pneumonia are advised to have the vaccine once every five years, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
“The overall health of our community is extremely important to us,” said Al Dixon, owner of the pharmacy. “Each year, the goal of our health fair is to increase health awareness and motivate participants to make positive health behavior changes by providing health screenings, activities, demonstrations and other helpful information.”
The pharmacy’s staff will be available throughout the fair to answer prescription questions, as well as questions about dietary supplements and over-the-counter medications.
Richmond Hill Pharmacy, part of the Coastal Family of Pharmacies, has been serving customers in the Richmond Hill area since 1984. The Coastal Family of Pharmacies also includes Medical Center Pharmacy at Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah and Whitman Pharmacy in Hinesville.
