The Shoney’s restaurant in Fleming has shut its doors, but only temporarily.
A spokesperson for the restaurant’s corporate office confirmed that the local restaurant is one of several scheduled to undergo renovations before being reopened this year.
Hannibal Myers, Shoney’s chief development officer, confirmed that owner-operator Herman Lee of Statesboro has plans to renovate the restaurant on Oglethorpe Highway, but could not provide more details on the timeline of the project. Lee was not available for comment as of press time.
