Liberty County and Hinesville will celebrate Georgia Small Business Week March 19-23 by featuring local businesses in various events and promotions sponsored by the Liberty County Chamber of Commerce/Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Hinesville Downtown Development Authority.
"We are happy to be able to celebrate this week of recognition for our local small businesses once again," said Leah Poole, CEO of the Liberty County Chamber/CVB. "As small business makes up the backbone of this country, we are proud to have so many great local entrepreneurs right here in Liberty County."
Hinesville Mayor Allen Brown will sign a Small Business Week proclamation on at 2:30 p.m. March 15 and Liberty County Board of Commissioners Chairman Donald Lovette will sign a county proclamation at 5 p.m. the same day.
Beginning March 19, local small businesses will be featured each day in video profiles on Chamber and HDDA social media outlets. Twenty small businesses will also have "selfie frames" to take photos with employees and customers throughout the week.
The Chamber/CVB and HDDA will visit small businesses on March 20 to express thanks and support. The community is invited to visit and support businesses throughout the week.
On March 22, the monthly Progress Through People luncheon will feature Ryan Waldrep, assistant director of entrepreneur and small business with the Georgia Department of Economic Development.
Also on March 22, downtown Hinesville businesses will be host a Sip and Shop 5-7 p.m.
The celebration will continue into the following week with a workshop March 27 for employers in navigating and leading a multi-generational workforce. This Chamber/CVB workshop will be taught by Daisy Jones of Tealiris Legacy Services, 2017 entrepreneurial small business of the year.
In other news, the Chamber/CVB will also host a Business Expo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 4. Webster University is presenting this free event. Business booth registration is $25.
